What to Expect in our Worship

Each of our services has a unique tenor and feel. Below, we'll try to help you understand what each service is like so that you can find the one that best suits your worship likes and needs. All of our services are come as you are, and we welcome children at all services. For parents with young children who prefer it, we have nursery care in our bright and beautiful nursery and professional care providers for children aged 5 and under.

8:00 am Holy Eucharist

This is our most 'traditional' service, utilizing our Book of Common Prayer. This intimate service includes traditional hymns. This service meets in the main sanctuary, accessible from the Fisher Avenue doors or through the 'front door' that leads into the foyer.

10:00 am Holy Eucharist, Rite II

Our 10:00 am service represents the most familiar form of worship in the Episcopal Church. Following Rite II from the Book of Common Prayer (The Prayer Book) or Enriching our Worship, the ritual and prayers might be very familiar if you come from a Lutheran or Roman Catholic tradition. Music is a blend of traditional and contemporary hymns and songs using a variety of instruments as well as both organ and piano. During the School year, our music ensemble, One Voice, helps support our singing and offers musical selections that help us connect in deeper ways to the God we worship each week. It might be an instrumental piece of music or a soloist or the choir, or a Jazz trio, but different musical offerings are regular features of this service. Worship at 10:30 am runs about an hour from start to finish. Like all of our services children are welcome, and during the summer we have a children's message before the sermon. During this service our nursery is open and available with a trained nusery attendant for children 9 months- 4 years old as needed. During the school year Sunday school for pre-schoolers is offered in the nursery at 10am, and our youngest members can join us at the peace or join their parents in worship. Children are full participants in this service. This is sevice is lively and sometimes boisterous!
